While all institutions are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act to offer accommodations, some institutions go beyond the basic ADA requirements and offer more comprehensive services. The colleges and universities listed below have programs that go beyond the basics for students on the autism spectrum. This might include help with academics, social skills, executive function, and residential life.
These programs typically offer assistance to students who have already been accepted into the college and do not offer a separate application option. In other words, students must qualify for the institution before they will be accepted into program for autism support.
The programs below are support programs that offer students the option of more support while they are enrolled as regular students. Several colleges offer more comprehensive programs which include residential assistance and a modified academic program. Visit our page for more comprehensive programs here.
